Twenty-Fourth Amendment

Section 1. The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election for President or Vice President, for electors for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State by reason of failure to pay any poll tax or other tax
    Section 2.
The Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

The 24th Amendment stamped out poll taxes and the taxes say you should have to pay to vote.

On January 23, 1964, the United States ratified the 24th Amendment to the Constitution, prohibiting any poll tax in elections for federal officials. That would be horrible to know that you were finally old enought to vote but you weren't able to vote becasue you had no money. The fee was called poll tax.

This video is really simple but it really breaks down the 24th amendment and tells a little bit about the history behind the amendment. The video also explains a poll tax.
